The ATC-Alpine Guide is designed for fast and light ascents. Weighing only 73 grams, this rappel and belay system is in the featherweight category. It is optimized for ropes from 8.1 to 8.5 millimeters in diameter but also works with ropes from 6.9 to 9 mm. The oval-shaped release eye allows for easy rope handling and the guide mode allows for one or two seconds of belaying on a mooring. The multi-brake modes provide optimum stopping power capability when reeling or abseiling.
