Designed for short outings where every ounce counts, the new Ascensionist Jacket is an extremely breathable and compressible jacket that provides reliable and comfortable protection. Ideal for demanding ski touring and mountaineering races where speed and lightness are the key words, the Ascensionist is the lightest of our technical jackets with a featherweight of 371g.

In the mountains, the less you load yourself, the faster you have to move so that you can take shelter in case of bad weather. Your speed depends on what you choose to carry to move safely. It’s up to you to find the right balance, just as we tried to do in designing the Ascensionist Jacket. The Ascensionist Jacket is made of lightweight, waterproof, breathable 3-layer GORE-TEX Active fabric with C-KNIT® lining for fast, intense activity. The C-KNIT technology incorporates extremely fine, stretchable and breathable fibres that give the lining a particularly soft feel. The helmet-friendly Optimal Visibility Hood has a laminated visor and a two-point adjustment to ensure that your field of vision is not obstructed. The sleeves provide absolute freedom of movement and the bottom of the jacket stays securely in place when you’re handling ice axes or rolling up a rope; the water-repellent ventilation zips under the arms help evacuate excess heat. The sleek cuffs have a Velcro closure and the intuitive tightening system with integrated Cohaesive™ locks at the bottom of the garment protects you from the elements. This model has minimalist seams and is reinforced with a narrow band to reduce the volume of material. The chest pocket with water-repellent zip holds valuables; the two zipped hand warmer pockets are positioned high up so they don’t get in the way under a harness or backpack belt; the stretchy tote pocket inside is ideal for keeping your gloves, headlamp or other accessories close at hand.
